Why Huber Social?

The story behind our name.

Francois Huber was born in 1750 in Geneva and committed his life to the meticulous study of the life of bee. To this day his findings on the culture of the hive, and how every action is for the progress of all, are still heralded as leading among apiarists.

But the most remarkable part, Huber was blind!

With the patient and devoted aid of his assistant, Francois Burnens, Huber was able to make all his discoveries about the life of bee, ”as though to teach us that no condition in life can warrant our abandoning our desire and search for the truth.” (The Life of the Bee (La Vie des abeilles), Maurice Maeterlinck, first published in French,1901).

So, in the spirit of overcoming disadvantage, and for the progress of humanity, we honour you, Huber Social.
